Week 35 - Crazy Week

Hey everyone!  I can´t believe it has already been another week.  Hope you all had a good one.  I had a very interesting week but also a very good one.

In the beginning of the week, my companion and I both felt the workings of Satan in our sector specifically.  So many things happened within a couple of days.  Our investigator with a baptismal date told us that he doesn´t want us to visit him for the time being.  He just said he wants to be alone.  We also had many encounters in the street, knocking on doors of people that just want to bring us down.  It was crazy how many things had happened.

My companion and I had kept working, praying, fasting, etc., so that we could have the strength necessary to keep working and meet our goals.  With all of this, the Lord has blessed us with many more investigators that are prepared to hear the message of the gospel, another investigator with a baptismal date, and just simply comfort that the Lord can deliver us from situations like this.

I have felt the power of the devil working hard and I know he doesn´t want us to succeed because he knows that this church is the kingdom of God on the earth.  I know Satan has power because God allows it.  2 Nephi 2:11 ´´For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things.´´  But we have much more power over him so long as we live the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

So yesterday was the temple dedication for the Trujillo, Peru temple.  My companion and I got there about 30 minutes early ready to see the transmission.  It was supposed to start at 9 and I looked at my watch and it was already 9:15.  Finally the stake president told us that there was no signal and that they wouldn´t be able to show any of the 3 transmissions.

I felt so sad for all the members here that had prepared to see this temple dedication.  The last temple dedication was the Lima temple almost 30 years ago.  Luckily us as missionaries got permission from our mission president to travel to Cusco to watch it.  We made the last session.  It was a very cool and spiritual experience.  I felt that the chapel really was an extension to the temple.  Pres. Uchtdorf and Elder Bednar were both there.  Both have very strong testimonies.  While singing ´´´The Spirit of God´´, I felt the same spirit that I had felt in previous temple dedications.  It was a very cool experience.

The day before (Saturday), we were able to watch the temple celebration which was pretty cool.  There were a lot of native dances that the youth performed.  Watching the celebration made me think back on the chance that I had to participate in a temple celebration.  It was very cool to watch.

That´s pretty much about it this week.  Or at least all I can remember. I hope you guys can all have spiritual member missionary experiences in your homes as well.  I love you all!  Thanks for everything.
