Week 42 - Friedrichsdorf

Liebe Grüße!

This week has been amazing. I love this new area. My Mitarbeiter is awesome, the place is awesome, and the Gemeinde here is really amazing.

We had the opportunity this week to plan Zone Training. The theme was the Restoration. The history of the Church of Jesus Christ is really something amazing and unique. In Ephesians 1: 10 it says "That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:" Then in 2 Thessalonians it says "the day of Christ is at hand.... Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first..." Before the Restoration could happen, a few things had to happen. Reformers made it possible to have a Bible in one's home. America was founded, the Revolutionary War was fought, and religious freedom was erected. "Coincidentally," Joseph Smith was born only about 20 years after all this into The Great Awakening, a time of great religious excitement, especially where he lived at the time. Then Joseph Smith had one question: Which church is true? How could there be several churches, if there was no religious freedom? He then read in the Bible, that was made available from the Reformers, and decided to follow its council. "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." The circumstances were just right for Joseph Smith to have his "First Vision." The Church of Jesus Christ was restored through Joseph Smith, along with the Priesthood authority, and the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon doesn't only contain the fullness of the Gospel, but also is evidence that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that this church is the Church of Jesus Christ.

When that is all true, then nothing else matters more. God's church is again on the earth, and He continues to guide His church today through his chosen Prophets. No wonder Joseph Smith said  “After all that has been said, the greatest and most important duty is to preach the Gospel."

Ich habe euch alle Lieb! Bis nächste Woche!
