Week 32 - It's Cold And Getting Colder

Hey everyone.  Sicuani is great.  It´s still cold.  And getting colder.  Well this week was interesting.  It´s definitely diferent than Puerto.  There isn´t a whole lot but I will write everything that comes to mind.

So last week we played soccer with that awesome new ball I got (thanks mom).  I tried to play out in the field the first game (futsal size field) and I died.  I had to play keeper the rest of the time.  It´s a little bit different than 600 ft.  I´m getting more used to the altitude everyday.

So this past week we have been asking a lot of references from people because we need people to teach.  We have been recieving a lot of references, but the references that they give don´t live in our sector....  What a bummer.

So one day we went to visit this guy that I guess they have been visiting and his dad answers the door.  We talked to him for a little bit and my companion at the end asked if he had been drinking.  He kind of laughed and said no.  So we left and came back a little later, and we found out that he was a member sealed in the temple!  Haha it was kind of funny that my companion thought he was drinking.  They are a super nice family.

Later that week we went back to their house to talk to them and to get to know them better.  At the end they gave us chocolate with milk.  I guess the milk was straight from the cow because it made my stomach sick for the next day.  It wasn´t too fun.

We are teaching a young couple named Sara and Joel.  They have a little baby and they came to church for the first time this last Sunday.  It was cool.  We also talked with Sara a little bit and she had read the introduction to the Book of Mormon and prayed about it.  Everybody here expects a dream for an answer and she said she didn´t get one, but we did help her recognize her answer.  She said that she felt better that day, more energy, etc.  It was pretty cool.

We also passed by their house not this last Sunday but the one before and there were evangelists in her store talking to her.  We just said hi and set up an appointment with her.   We came back to teach her and she said that the evangelists said that the Book of Mormon was another Bible.  But what was cool is that Sara told them that it wasn´t another Bible, it was a completely different book.  I feel like they can progress really well.

This Sunday there was a teenager that went to church that wasn´t a member.  He is 14 and he recently got baptized in the Seventh Day Adventist church.  We talked to him later that day and he told us his reasons for why he got baptized and everything.  We also talked to him about authority and priesthood and he accepted to get baptized when he gains a testimony.  We have only taught him once but he seems like a good kid.

That´s about it this week.  Not much has happened.  Still cold and getting colder.  Enjoy summer.  Love you all!
