Week 8 - Das weiß ich nicht

Hallo alles!

Everything is going more than great, as always. How can it not be; I am on a misison in Germany. For sacrament meeting yesterday, we met in the bishop´s house. We have about 40 members in our ´group.´ The members here are amazing. I love talking with them and working with them. They are so strong and devoted. They also contribute alot to missionary work. Another thing is that they cook very, very good food, but that one is probably a given.

We are still doing a lot of finding. We knock on people´s doors for at least 3 or 4 hours on average per day. All of that, and maybe only two or three people are interested. But it is so worth it. I would knock on 500 hundred doors if it meant finding just one person that would be willing to accept the gospel. This work is awesome. The most common phrase I hear is "Ich habe meine Glaube und ich bleibe dabei." I don´t have time to translate that, so you can google it or something. It´s the celestial language, after all.

Today I was reading in 2 Nephi 4. It was an amazing chapter. Let me just say, and I think I say it almost every week, but God answers our prayers. In this case, through scripture study. One verse that stuck out to me was verse 5: "for behold, I know that if ye are brought up in the way ye should go ye will not depart from it."

I´ve been doing a lot of study recently on the family, how the family is given from God, and how the gospel blesses families. Let me just reitirrate what Nephi said in that verse. I am so thankful for my parents and my family, and how they have loved me and helped me, and "brought me up in the way I should go." I know that the family is given from God. The ideal home is a continuation, or a part of heaven. My home has definitly been that. I couldn´t ask for a better family, or better parents. I definitely would not be out here were it not for them. Not only my immediate family, but all of my grandparents, cousins, and aunts and uncles.

Thank you so much to everyone and everything that you have done.

Also, the Euro Cup is going on here. Everyone has Germany flags hanging out of their windows, on their cars, and in the stores. Everyone is wearing Germany jerseys. There are screens everywhere (even on the trains) that are showing the games, scores, and giving us updates. I think that we could learn a little lesson from them, and apply this into our lives in America
