Week 55 - Anwenden

Liebe Grüße!

This week was pretty good here. We've had some pretty cool experiences and met some pretty cool people.

So Tuesday we had a pretty cool experience. My companion and I were at the church planning a lesson that we were going to give at Zone Conference on Wednesday. It was taking a little bit longer than we thought, and we started to get a little frustrated. We were teaching about the Europe Area Plan, and how we could share that more effectively with members. So finally we got it done, and then we went by on a man who was recently reactivated. We rang his doorbell, and he let us in. He saw us, and just put his hand to his face. He invited us in, then told us he just prayed less than two minutes ago, then we rang his doorbell. It turned out that the Europe Area Plan is exactly what he needed as well, which is what we just planned, and wanted to share with him. It was pretty cool.

I found this quote from the Liahona from President Uchtdorf:

"There is an old Jewish tale about a soap maker who did not believe in God. One day as he was walking with a rabbi, he said, “There is something I cannot understand. We have had religion for thousands of years. But everywhere you look there is evil, corruption, dishonesty, injustice, pain, hunger, and violence. It appears that religion has not improved the world at all. So I ask you, what good is it?” The rabbi did not answer for a time but continued walking with the soap maker. Eventually they approached a playground where children, covered in dust, were playing in the dirt. “There is something I don’t understand,” the rabbi said. “Look at those children. We have had soap for thousands of years, and yet those children are filthy. What good is soap?” The soap maker replied, “But rabbi, it isn’t fair to blame soap for these dirty children. Soap has to be used before it can accomplish its purpose.” The rabbi smiled and said, “Exactly.”

I know this church is true. I know that it was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. He saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, exactly how he described it.

Vielen Dank für alles! Die Zeit vergeht sehr schnell. Zu schnell.
