Week 7 - Euskirchen

Hey everyone!

So my first area is Euskirchen. It is probably one of the coolest places I´ve ever been to. It is very green here. Euskirchen is the center, then there are farms and trees all around it, and then there are a lot of Dorfs (villages) surrounding it. It´s so cool. Each Dorf has a huge church right in the middle of it, so you can tell which Dorf is which from the church that you see. My area is about a 40 minute train ride from Köln.

We do a ton of contacting. We set goals every week about how many Book of Mormon´s we want to place and how many Untersuchers (investigators) we want to find. I love this work. I love the people here, as well. Sometimes it´s scary going up to talk to an old German who doesn´t want to talk about religion, but 'there comes a time when every man should here the gospel in his native tongue.' And it´s kind of my job. That´s what I was sent here to do, so what the heck if they hate me for sharing a message with them, nevermind that it is the most important message that they will hear in their whole life.

It is the coolest thing when people let us talk about and share the Book of Mormon with them. I know that the Lord has been preparing people in this specific area to here the message of the Restoration of the Gospel. Sometimes it is hard to understand them and say what I want to say because of the language, but I have been so fortunate to have grown up with a German background and learn a lot of German beforehand. I know that with God´s help and through the Gift of Tongues, that I can understand others and preach the gospel 'as seemeth me (not me, God) good.' I know that God doesn't command us, lest He prepares a way to accomplish it.

This is the Lord's work. His church is rolling forward like a stone cut out of the Mount.

Ich danke euch!

Also, the members here are amazing. Harvest Park 2nd ward has some competition.
