Week 75 - Er erduldet es

Liebe Grüße!

This week was honestly pretty rough. Elder Happel was sick, and my toe was operated on, so we spent a lot of time in our apartment.

I had a pretty bad ingrown toenail, and they had to cut it off. They numbed my toe, and I swear they cut off half of my toe. I couldn't feel anything, but I watched the whole thing, or at least as much as I could before I passed out...

We had a lot of appointments this week, so that was good. Some of them are progressing.

We've been trying to go to institute a lot more to try and build our relationship with the YSAs, and teach their friends. The only problem is that the YSAs love to speak English. When they see a missionary, it is most likely that they are from America, and to them that's a big sign that reads "English Practice." So they get pretty disappointed when they realize that I'm German, and that I am not going to speak English with them.

This week I read a pretty cool scripture out of the Book of Mormon. It's in 1 Nephi 19. 9 "And the world, because of their iniquity, shall judge him to be a thing of naught; wherefore they scourge him, and he suffereth it; and they smite him, and he suffereth it. Yea, they spit upon him, and he suffereth it, because of his loving kindness and his long-suffering towards the children of men." It's pretty hard to love someone that doesn't love you back. This scripture talks about the physical pain Christ went through. I can't even imagine the amount of spiritual, mental, and emotional pain he went through, and it is all because of one thing. Love.

Vielen Dank für alles!
